Editorial:

As the evidence mounts that we may be on the verge of triggering runaway global warming, which could mean the imminent end of nearly all life on this Earth – surely a reason, if ever there was one, to apply the precautionary principle rigorously – we find our politicians continuing to play lip service to the need to cut emissions and switch over to renewables as fast as possible.

This is the message of our first article, from the weekly mailing list of Medialens, which I can recommend all to subscribe to. At least take a look at their web site if you can.

Meanwhile, the evidence continues to mount, of the role of the fast-growing debt-mountain due to the nature of our money supply, as basic cause of the ‘need for growth’ which drives the ‘economy’, and with it, humanity and the natural world to the brink of destruction. This message is even becoming mainstream, with a growing flow of books and articles questioning the system, and proposing change.

I have tabled a motion to this year’s Green Party Autumn Conference and AGM, to reinstate the policy of government-created money, to be spent into circulation; I trust that all who can, will attend and vote for it!

For a wide-ranging analysis of the growth and myths behind ‘Globalisation’, I can also strongly recommend a look at: http://cyberjournal.org/

It encourages the reader to look behind ‘the matrix’ maintained by the elite, to see the reality of the destructive global exploitation by Capitalism, and the history of its development.

It is not brief, but comprehensive. It is divided into essays which can be read in isolation, but all form parts of the whole message – with many references to source books, for those who wish to look further into the many aspects of the subject-matter.
